Notice on remind of passengers taking flights from Canada to China to pay attention to the latest requirements

Dear Passengers:

According to the latest notice on new requirements before boarding issued by the Chinese Embassy in Canada.

Starting from May 21, 2022, All passengers who are to fly from Canada to China directly will only be required to take the first nucleic acid test within 2 days and the second nucleic acid test within 1 day before boarding. In addition to the above mentioned new adjustment, an antigen test is still required within 12 hours before boarding. Passengers with an infection history or who were diagnosed with COVID-19 or tested positive for nucleic acid, are considered as having an infection history. It is necessary to supplement two nucleic acid tests with a sampling interval of more than 24 hours and 4-weeks of self-health monitoring. Air China will strictly check the QR code and the negative result test reports (2 nucleic acid test, and antigen test) and keep the hard copies of the negative result test reports.

Special relevant adjustment:

1, The two nucleic acid tests must be completed at a medical institution recognized by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in Canada and in the same consular area and the antigen test shall be done by any medical institution, hospital, or pharmacy recognized by the Canadian public health authorities.

3, Since Canadian airports can not provide testing, passengers from outside Canada are advised to avoid connecting flights to China in Canada as much as possible. Canada is still implementing entry restrictions, and there are risks of overstay and repatriation due to transit.
